Dry-bulb temperature

Dry-bulb temperature is the ordinary air temperature measured without accounting for humidity. It is useful but incomplete for cooling analysis because humidity and wet-bulb conditions influence heat rejection and economization.

Step-up transformer

A step-up transformer increases voltage, often so generation can connect efficiently to transmission. It is more common in generation projects than load-only data center service, but it matters for on-site generation and microgrid concepts.

Job creation threshold

Job creation threshold is the number, wage level, or type of jobs required to qualify for an incentive. Data centers can be capital-intensive with relatively low permanent headcount, so job metrics often need careful explanation.
